Black flint with cortex, possible debitage. A thick flake with long broad flakes struck from two or three of its four sides. The flint is black but the cortex is only beginning to lose its creamy tint, so the object may not have been exposed to the current discolouring local environment for very long. The flat top [as illustrated] may represent a striking platform. Suggested date: Neolithic, 4000-2350 BC
