A lead alloy decorated spindle whorl. In the centre of the object is a circular perforation. It is D shaped in cross section. The object is a powdery white colour. The object was possibly decorated but very faded. There is a nick in one side, probably from modern damage.
Notes:
Spindle whorls have reportedly been found in contexts dated from the Roman through to the Post-Medieval period although the majority are typically dated broadly to the medieval period c.1100-1500.
