Medieval copper alloy harness pendant in the form of a cross dating to the period c. AD 1100 - 1250.
Each of the arms arms exhibits engraved transverse lines. At the centre is an engraved saltire. Projecting from the top a suspension loop set perpendicular to the body of the cross.
A late eleventh- / early twelfth-century tympanum in the church of St George in Fordington, Dorset depicts St George mounted on a horse displaying harness pendants of similar form (Ashley, S, 2002, p. 27, pl. 1)
