A flint scraper likely of Bronze age date (c. 2200 - 800 BC), utilising an earlier flake.
Description: The scraper is sub-triangular (almost teardrop) in shape with a wider outer slightly convex edge, an inner concave edge and a wide body. It is formed from a secondary flake with some cortex remaining on the outer edge. There is retouch along the convex edge formed of short very regular scaled semi-abrupt removals. This retouch goes through flint that has begun to recorticate indicating this retouch occured a substantial amount of time after the production of the flake. The short edge has some less regular short retouch like blunting its' edge to enable it utilisation. The bulb of percussion is fairly pronounced as is all conchoidal rippling.
