Medieval copper alloy rotary key terminal, 29mm long, 22mm wide and 3mm thick and weighing 4.99 grams. The object is sub rectangular in form and rectangular in cross section. It has a lozenge shaped terminal which has four small circular holes arranged in a cross formation and sub rectangular projections at 3 and 6 o clock. Below this the object has a slight raised collar on one face, above the remains of a rectangular shaft.
Keys of this type are dated to the twelveth to fifteenth centuries, c.1150-1400. Similar examples which have been recorded on the database are LVPL-EFED18, LVPL-6403E7, LVPL-FB0E7B, DENO-2EA0E4, DENO-7B5DBA, DENO-E54984 and LVPL-9502D3.
