Copper alloy thimble. Conical or domed thimble, probably pressed metal; a foot ring has probably been lost. A plain basal zone occupies the lower half of the wall, with probably machine stamped circular pits appearing as if in diagonal rows up the rest of the wall. The top is occupied by concentric rings of similar pits. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1850-1900.

Notes:

From a large group left with landowner by an unidentified detectorist over the period 2008-2012; the finder has since died
