Copper alloy buckle. Cast sub-rectangular buckle frame with a curved and expanded outer edge bearing a central nick serving as a pin rest, and with a round section strap bar set back from the frame. Rust stains on the strap bar may suggest this was deposited with an iron pin attached [now lost]. The robust construction may suggest use with horse or bridle harness. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1800-1900.
