A pierced silver huiteme d'ecu of Henri III of France, dating to the period 1574-1589. The coin is heavily clipped and has a small triangular section missing to the top left of the obverse. There is a large untidy pierced hole that has been drilled through the coin at the bottom of the shield on the obverse and between the limbs of the cross on the reverse; it does not appear to respect the design.
