Roman Republican denarius of T Carisius, IIIvir, 46 BC. Mint of Rome. Brockage (see note below) of RRC 464/4.


A brockage is created when an earlier coin becomes stuck to the die during the manufacturing process. The next coin struck will have either two obverses or two reverses (depending on which die the coin is struck to). One side will appear inverted as a result of being struck by a coin rather than the die.
