Medieval gilt copper alloy harness fitting, a hook-plate from a clasp with a pair of integral sub-circular-sectioned rivets on the reverse. The whole is sub-triangular in cross-section, and there is a sharp transverse rib at the junction of hook and bar. Similar to Read 2008, nos. 807 (IOW-7184A4) and 808, and closest to the former. Length 40.2mm. Width 7.8mm. Thickness 4.2mm (including rivets 10mm). Mid 12th - 13th century.
