Copper alloy brooch. Cast hinged Colchester derivative brooch, Mackreth 2011, type CD H9.?d. Plain tubular wings clenched behind retain an axis bar for a hinged pin [lost]. The wings are met by a rounded D-section bow with two rectangular cut outs at its crest. The bow tapers to a plain foot with the stub of a catch plate behind it. The bow is now bent. Suggested date: Early Roman, 75-130.
