An incomplete copper-alloy buckle of medieval date, c. AD 1250 - 1400. Only the expanded front portion of the frame remains, the buckle proper having been lost to old worn breaks. The fragment is sub-triangular with slightly inwardly curving sides. The outer terminal of the expanded edge has also been lost to worn breaks. The upper surface is decorated with a shallow incised double border of incised dots. A median line of dots is also present. The reverse is flat and undecorated.

The metal has a dark green patina and is worn. The buckle is 21.7mm long, 30.6mm wide, 1.8mm thick and weighs 2.5g.

Similar examples are illustrated in Whitehead (1996), p.24 and are dated to circa AD 1250 - 1400.
