A fragment of a probably Post Medieval lead cloth seal. The object consists of a fragment (maybe only 20-30 per cent) of disc 1 of a two- or four-disc seal, with an integral rivet projecting from the reverse. The fragment is irregular in shape, with worn breaks on all sides, which obscures its original dimensions.
Disc 1 is stamped with the letters [...](E )N B above and a possible O, a clear C and a possible A beneath. Traces of disc 2's design survive on the rivet, but it is unclear.
Length 20.1mm. Width: 13.7mm Thickness 1.6mm. Thickness (including rivet): 6.7.mm; Weight 3.32g.
The seal could not be identified from the usual sources but the use of an inscription in horizontal rows and the lettering style suggests it is Post Medieval.
