Copper-alloy sub-rectangular single-looped buckle, complete with copper-alloy pin, dating to the medieval period (c. 1350 - 1500 AD). The buckle-frame widens from an offset strap bar to a thick lip. The strap bar is square in section, while the lip is bevelled on the outside edge, giving it a pentagonal section. There are two transverse grooves on the front face of the lip. A notch has worn on the outer edge of the bar strap from movement of the pin, which is still attached and comprises of a copper-alloy wire with one end bent around the strap bar. The pin is round in section and slightly pointed. The buckle is dark brown in colour. It is 16.42mm in length, 12.43mm in width and 4.66mm thick. The buckle weighs 2.95g.
