Post Medieval copper alloy two piece button, sometimes known as tombac or dandy buttons. It is flat and circular in plan with a soldered shank on the back. The outer face is decorated with a finely incised feathered border. The back has the remnants of a central loop for thread. There is some damage to the edge of the button. The button has a remnant coating, probably some form of white metal. It probably dates from between c1675 and c1800 AD. The diameter is 27mm and the weight is 4.52g. Similar records on the database include NLM-F80432.
