A rimsherd of a wheel thrown ceramic vessel, of the Roman period, dating from the 2nd to 4th century AD.
The sherd consists of a rimsherd, in a fabric is similar to that of local (unsourced) greyware, , consistent with 2nd to 4th Century AD dating. The rim type is that of an everted type, probably consistent with a storage bowl or jar. It is triangular in plane and inverted L shape in section. The exterior colour is black, with the interior and core is a light brown in colour. The fabric has fine quartz inclusions. The rim would have been around 14 cm in diameter, and around 12.5 % remains.
The sherd is 7.2 mm thick and weighs 15.0 g. It is 26.1 mm in length at the longest point and is 12.8 mm in length at the shortest. It measures 48.1 mm wide.
