Dark grey flint core fragment. A chip probably from the side of a core bearing the scars from the removal of broad flakes from one side by probably unidirectional working. All struck surfaces bear a misty patina indicating the subsequent exposure of the object to a calcareous environment. This is locally removed by probably adventitious later impacts. Suggested date: Neolithic, 4000-2350 BC.
