An incomplete post-Medieval copper-alloy military button or stud of the Isle of Wight (or Vectis) Cavalry (c. 1817).

The attachment loop is missing but a scar can be seen.

This button is flat at the front and rear. The front bears the word 'VECTIS' in capital letters.

The front has a smooth white metal coating and the rear is brown and green.

Diameter: 15.0mm; thickness: 0.6mm. Weight: 1.04g.
