A complete post-Medieval copper-alloy dress hook (1500-1650).

Read Class E, Type 3.

The dress-hook is sub-circular in plan. The main body is decorated with a moulded-relief openwork design featuring a raised linear circle with two elongated knops to both sides. The area within the circle is plain. A rectangular attachment loop extends from one end. At the opposite end there is rearwards projecting hook that terminates with a sharp point. The hook is 'D'-shaped in cross-section, flat at the rear. The rear face of the object is flat and plain.

Length: 33.6mm; width: 17.2mm; thickness: 1.6mm; thickness including hook: 5.0mm. Weight: 2.52g.

This dress-hook is reddish brown overall.

A similar dress-hook has been published (Read 2008: 103, ref: 398).
