CLOTH SEAL

Unique ID: WILT-F9CAAC

Object type certainty: Certain
Workflow status: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation

A complete post medieval lead cloth seal dating to AD 1500-1700. The seal is composed of two roughly circular discs linked together. Disc one has the initials DG stamped on it. Disc two which is somewhat smaller, has what might be a depiction of the Cross or a letter X and a letter L. This weighs 4.18grams, and the maximum diameter is 19.3mm.

There is also a fragment of lead possibly associated with the seal which shares the same grid reference. This fragment appears to be two small pieces of lead bent together with no clear shape. This fragment weighs 2.62 grams.
