A twisted and incomplete cast copper-alloy and white-metal coated Roman brooch of the Hod Hill type, dating to the first century AD (. c. AD 43-75). The brooch has a central vertical rib down the bow flanked by two lower ribs. A transverse moulding divides the bow in half, the lower section of which is plain and undecorated. A rounded foot knop forms the terminal. On the reverse is the catch-plate. At the head of the bow the rolled arms are incomplete and the pin and bar machinism is missing.
