A possible Early Medieval lead gaming piece, or a possible weight of uncertain date. The object is five sided and pyramid shaped. 18.3mm wide at the base, and 9.5mm wide at the top.12.9mm high. The object has a central circular performation. It weighs 17.96g. The object is incomplete missing a fragment near the base.
Many similar objects have been found at Torksey (Hadley & Richards, Antiquaries Journal, 2016) and are identified as Viking gaming pieces, presumably used in the board game of Hnefetafl and several have been recorded on the database. For example: PUBLIC-071C0B
