A complete uniface Medieval to Post Medieval cast lead alloy uniface token, dating from c. A 1250-1800. Powell Type 30. One face of the token has a cross and pellet design with one pellet in each quarter, the other side is blank.The token is of a light grey colour.
Diameter 16.28mm. Thickness 2.72mm Weight:3.7 gms.
Lead tokens had a wide variety of potential uses such as tallies, gaming pieces, tickets, weights, etc. and are believed to have been locally produced; they are therefore difficult to date precisely. Therefore those with simple designs are given a more general Medieval to Post Medieval date.
