A medieval (1230 - 1400) copper alloy rectangular strap-slide with internal projections. The frame is sub-trapezoidal in shape with a convex (and thickened) outside edge and rectangular in cross-section. The two opposed internal projections are triangular and appear about two thirds of the way along the shorter sides of the frame, nearest the shorter of the long edges. The strap loop is 23.3mm long, with shortest internal length 17.8mm. It measures 15.3mm in max. width, is 3.0mm thick and weighs 2.10g.
Strap-slides with internal projections seem to be the earliest form, with similar examples from London illustrated in Egan and Pritchard (1991: 231-2) fig.149, all of which have been found in contexts dated to 1230-1400.
