Complete Post-Medieval, sub-circular, biface, lead alloy token dating from AD1450-1600. This is a Powell type 20 token. The obverse face has a merchant's mark of a cross which splits at the bottom in an inverted 'Y' shape. There is a letter W attached to cross on the right side just below the cross central arm, the cross divides another cross or sword which lies at 90 degrees at the bottom of the first cross. The reverse of the token is divided into three sections, the top and bottom section have a lattice decoration, the middle section contains the letter B in black letter script.

Lead alloy tokens were used for many purposes during the Medieval and Post Medieval periods, and cast by both large and small industries. They are therefore very difficult to date, but those with initials are thought to date to the Post Medieval period.
