A copper-alloy Roman finger-ring with missing intaglio or stone leaving an empty bezel. The remains of this finger-ring weigh 3.46g. The finger-ring has a height of 24.8mm and width of 22.8mm. The loop is approximately circular in shape, with the bezel rising up above. The band has a circular cross-section, of 1.7mm thickness and 1.8mm width, at the base. This cross-section becomes oval, increasing in width and thickness towards the shoulders and bezel. At the shoulders the thickness is 2.9mm x 4.7mm width. The band continues to increase in size to the bezel which has a thickness of 3.7mm and width of 7.6mm. The setting is oval in shape measuring 8.8mm in line with the band and having a width of 6.4mm. A white paste is present within the setting, lining the walls and base. The setting recess has a depth of 1.3mm to the paste surface.
Possibly a Henig type I. Compare with PAS record SOM-FA5FA9.
