A complete cast copper alloy Roman brooch of the Hod Hill type, dating to the first century AD. The brooch has multiple ribbed moulding down the bow with a wide horizontal panel forming 'side lugs' across the middle. This panel appears undecorated. The rolled head holds an axis bar for the hinged pin, which may be a replacement as it is of a different alloy to the brooch. The foot of the brooch and the catch plate is intact. Traces of silvering survive. AD 43-75.
