A uniface lead token, in the form of a very crude and irregularly formed flat disc which measures c.28mm in diameter, is up to 6.3mm thick and has a well-developed grey/white patination. The obverse has eight fairly evenly spaced indented lines radiating from the centre to the edge, and giving a floral effect. The decoration appears to have been formed by striking the blank disc, and not by moulding, as the token is distorted.
Lead tokens with simple designs are very easy to make and continued in use for a long period; those with floral designs are of Powell type 1, and this could date to any time from c.1250 - 1750.
