A sherd of a wheelthrown ceramic vessel of medieval date, c.AD 1300 - 1500. The fragment is from a shallow plate or dish with an everted rim. The fabric is fine and sandy with a smooth feel. It is a pale grey colour at the core with a pale buff coloured exterior. Traces of an orange slip are present on both surfaces.

The sherd is 52.3mm x 103.6 mm x 9.4mm (wall); 24.6mm thick (rim). Weight: 77g. Overall diameter: 22cm (projected using rim chart); approx.18% remaining.
