An incomplete copper-alloy harness bell of medieval date, c.AD 1200 - 1400. The object comprises a hollow sub-spherical chamber formed of four elongated ovate petal-like panels, integral to one another to the upper end. The surface of the bell is decorated with a scale-like design created by a series of semi-circular grooves. The pea no longer remains.
The metal has a mid-red/brown patina and is worn. The bell is 20.4mm long, 12.7mm wide, 0.7mm thick and weighs 1.8g.
