An incomplete copper alloy Knee Brooch of Roman date (AD 150-200). The brooch has a semi-circular head from the reverse of which semi-circular lugs project which housed a partially retained axis bar. From the centre of the wings a curved bow projects at a near 90 degree angle, and terminates in a worn break. The upper face of the bow is faceted with a flattened central section. The back of the bow is concave. The majority of the bow, axis bar and the foot, catchplate and pin are all missing.
The metal is a mid-green in colour with a smooth patina.
