An incomplete copper alloy Roman Colchester derivative, hinged ('Dolphin') brooch, dating from AD c. 55 - c. 100. The brooch is missing its pin, catchplate and part of wings. Both wings and bow are plain. The bow tapers to a point. The whole surface is covered in a fairly even green patination, with some loss to the surface in places. cf. Hattatt. 2000, 299, fig.158, no. 359.
