A complete lead alloy token dating from the medieval to post medieval period. The token is uni-faced and circular in shape. The upper face is decorated with a simple, raised cross within a raised border. This decoration fits into Powell's type 14 (crosses). The reverse is flat and undecorated.
The metal is worn and grey-ish cream in colour. The token is 19.3 mm in diameter, 2.5 mm thick and weighs 6.1 g.
Lead tokens had a wide variety of potential uses including use as tallies, gaming pieces, tickets and weights, and are difficult to date precisely.
