An incomplete cast copper-alloy bow brooch of Colchester Derivative double-lugged type, dating c. 43-100 AD. The main body of the brooch itself survives intact, though the pin is broken away in old damage. It demonstrates a semi-circular sectioned winged head (which is plain and undecorated), at the midpoint of which on its rear face a projecting double-lug is visible-though this is partially obscured by corrosion products. The bow is 'D' shaped in section and plain, tapering along its length to the foot where a sub-triangular catchplate projects from the rear of the object, also heavily concreted. Preserved in fair condition with a patchy dark greenish brown patina, it measures 33.40mm long, 17.14mm wide at its head, and 2.83mm thick at the midpoint of the bow. It weighs 5.28g.
