A copper alloy strap end of Thomas class E3, dating to c.AD 900-1000. The strap end is tongue-shaped, with a straight upper edge split to accommodate the strap. An iron rivet is placed centrally towards this edge and extends through to the reverse. A raised longitudinal ridge runs down the centre of the front. There is no other decoration and the reverse is undecorated. A green patina is on the surface. The strap end measures 25.32mm in length, 13.71mm in width, 5.22mm in thickness and weighs 6.39g.
