The flint is leaf-shaped with a rounded end and a point. The ventral face is largely flat and smooth with visible bulb of percussion at the pointed end. The dorsal face is bulbous at the wider end and narrower towards the point. There may be some slight retouching along the edges on the dorsal face but this is neither extensive or consistent suggesting that this piece was discarded before it was finished. Some cortex remains on the bulbous section of the dorsal face. Otherwise, there are a number of flat sections where flakes have been struck off this face, and the flint is a mottled light grey with some orange patination. It is 58.85mm in length, 48.92mm in width and 16.16mm in thickness. The weight of the object is 56.78g.2017-12-11 15:13:082017-12-12 12:22:35411Certain11613PAS5A2EA084001E1110444YORYMFlint10837Knapped/flakedCompleteMESOLITHICMEx14235p0gjgrs45g4BRONZE AGEBAx13712p0gjgrs6qb2Metal detectorCircaCirca8787432563542352563541430TA1872TA1872TA17SE54.13031344-0.195645866100640731PH0397.jpg5184726Unknown : debitageYork Museums Trust4images/liddyprosser/Yorkshire and the HumberCultivated landEuropean RegionUnitary AuthorityEast Riding of YorkshireUnitary AuthorityEast Riding of YorkshireCivil Parish54.1347-0.187247BemptonReturned to finder97322
