Unique ID: NCL-AD9E11

Object type certainty: Certain
Workflow status: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation

Massive terret ring made from cast cu-alloy, with an incomplete projection of a twin spur (lipped projection) within the ring. It would also have had a strap bar concealed at the base. Most known examples come from northern England and Scotland with an emphasis in Aberdeenshire. There are also examples from North Wales. It's very close to an example from Chesters, Northumberland in Jope 2000, 309, 291e and MacGregor 1976, 113. Generally dating from late 1st-mid 3rd century AD.

A fine example of this type of object is LANCUM-1F06E0
