A Medieval copper alloy single-looped buckle, probably dating to c. AD 1250-1350; incomplete in that it is missing its pin. The buckle frame comprises of a single D-shaped loop with an offset bar, with a deep groove forming a pin-rest on the opposing edge of the frame. The frame is rectangualr in cross section.
Dimensions: length 23.0mm; width 26.2mm; thickness 3.6mm; weight 5.35g.
Similar buckles can be seen published by Egan & Pritchard (1991: 70, nos. 271-277) excavated in phases dated to the late 13th and early 14th centuries.
