Incomplete Roman copper alloy sprung Colchester-derivative rear hook brooch, Mackreth (2011), CD RH 1a. Moulded decoration at the end of both wings consists of two flutes alternating with three narrow knurled ribs, corroded solder with the impression of the missing spring and pin on the reverse. The broken D-sectioned bow has two knurled median ribs which become plain and bifurcate at the rear hook and an offset on both sides. Lower part missing. Wingspan 31mm. Extant length 21mm. c. AD 43 -65.
