Gold post medieval mourning finger ring. The D-sectioned hoop, originally circular is now bent out of shape. On the exterior is an engraved human skull. On the interior, in Italic script is the legend: "H F ob 10 Mar 1712 aet 70" followed by a stamped maker's mark: the initials CR in blackletter script within a rectangle. Date c. AD 1712

Diameter: 21mm (internal diameter: 18.8mm), width of band: 4mm, thickness: 1.8mm, weight: 3.3g.
