Post medieval copper alloy shield-shaped strap mount dating to the period c. AD 1500 - 1650. On the back are two integrally cast spikes for attachment to leather. The mount has a wide rounded terminal at the bottom of the shield and an expanded trefoil terminal at the apex. Within the shield are symmetrical foliate motifs.
