A crudely cast, incomplete lead and iron steelyard weight, of possible Roman date, AD 43 - 410. The body of the weight is sub- spherical (almost acorn shaped), tapering from a flattened top to a rounded base. A narrow iron rod projects from the centre of the upper surface, probably the remains of a suspension loop. There are no markings and the surface is rough. The weight is 22.1mm in diameter and 42.2mm long. It weighs 76.69gm.
