An incomplete Neolithic polished axehead, dating to the period 3500 BC- 2200 BC. The axehead has been reused as a core. It does not appear to be the butt nor the tip of the axehead, but an uncertain portion of the body. The axehead is broadly globular, measuring 71.07mm in length, 57.56mm wide and 33.07mm in thickness, though this varies. In colour, the axehead is creamy-white, with streaks of darker grey (particularly on the dorsal face) and flecks of light brown. There is evidence that, after breaking, the axehead was reused as a core with numerous flaking scars
No trace of the cortex remains. In total, this polished axehead weighs 149.63g.
This has been noted as an interesting find by the recorder.
