A complete silver penny of Henry II - Henry III (AD 1180 - 1247). Mint and moneyer is uncertain. The obverse has a visible sceptre dividing the legend between R/EX. Reverse has a voided short cross with quatrefoil in the visible quarter. The surface of the coin has been affected by acidic soil conditions and there is a visible line where the coin has been bent. The flan is quite large compared to the die.
