4 fragments of Copper-alloy slag of indeterminate age, c.2350BC - Present

Description:The Fragments are varied but all irregular in shape although most have very pourous typical of slag and all green with either a grey or brwn hue. Fragment 4 maybe more high metallic being far less porous and with more smooth edges than the other fragments..


Fragment 1: 73.58mm long, 65.63mm wide, 33.06mm thick and 200g in weight.

Fragment 2: 30.10mm long, 23.18mm wide, 4.16mm thick and 6.47g in weight.

Fragment 3: 2: 40.74mm long, 26.83mm wide, 12.7mm thick and 32.04g in weight.

Fragment 4: 52.57mmlong, 31.84mm wide, 23.41mm thick and 36.42g in weight.


Recorded due to close association with Roman site producing substantial metalwork.
