A copper alloy strap slide dating to the 14th century. The slide consists of the trapezoidal frame, the longest outside edge is slightly expanded in the centre and is decorated with 3 grooves and knops at each corner. At the opposite inside edge of the frame there is a seperate internal rivet which is bent into a curl.
Reference: Griffiths et al, Meols illustrates a similar strap slide, pg.129, no.1467.
