A complete Medieval cast lead spindle whorl, c. AD 1100-1507. The spindle whorl is biconvex and sub-circular in shape. Both faces of the spindle whorl are decorated with raised design; one side has diagonal shaped lines, creating a petal-like design, the other with a triangular raised design with a raised boss in the middle of the triangles . The whorl has a central hole. The whorl is of a light to mid- brown patina and is worn. See record ID: DUR-8874D9 for a very similar spinning whorl.
