Silver groat of Henry VIII, second coinage (1526 - 1544 AD), Tower mint. Initial mark is a lis on both obverse and reverse. Obverse of right-facing crowned bust. Obverse inscription: + (lis) H E N R I C (pellet above saltire) V I I I (pellet above saltire) D x G x R x A G L + Z + F R A N C E (two crosses). Reverse of long cross fourchée over royal shield with saltires at the ends of the crosses arms. Reverse inscription: (lis) P O S V I (two saltires)/D E V' (two saltires) A/D I V T O R/E' (two saltires) M E V'. North, vol. 2, no. 1797.
