Copper alloy stirrup mount. Cast openwork plat of ogival form with an apical triangular expansion and a very slightly in-turned base. A decorative design is rendered with seven drilled holes of diameter c.4mm and at least eight similar if slightly smaller [diameter c.3.5mm] blind holes which are not carried through the plate. Williams Class A Type 10 includes mounts with drilled or moulded apertures contributing to interlaced zoomorphic schemes of ornament, of which this must be a worn and debased example, as no relief components of the design appear. Suggested date: Early Medieval, 1025-1100.
