A flint scraper of probable Late Neolithic or Bronze Age date, c. 3000-800 BC. A Broadly piriform secondary flake of black/brown flint, triangular in cross section and with c. 10% of the dorsal face covered with cortex at the distal end. Two parallel removal scars survive on the dorsal face. A relatively pronounced bulb of percussion is present at the proximal end of the ventral face, the striking platform has been worked away by a series of crude, abruptly angled hinged removals. There is a central, longitudinally aligned hinged removal at the proximal end of the dorsal face, possibly thinning the flake. Both edges of the dorsal face exhibit, short, semi-abrupt and sub-parallel/scalar retouch, becoming abrupt at the proximal end of the right edge.

Dimensions: length 54.0mm; width 26.8mm; thickness 9.3mm; weight 13.04g.

It is impossible to date a single non-diagnostic flint flake with certainty. This flake exhibits general characteristics which would suggest a later Neolithic or Bronze Age date.
